The GV Multimedia team would like to take the opportunity to extend congratulations to Kim Liddle who celebrates 25 years of loyal service with the company. Kim was presented with her service award by Company Chairman Brian Abrahams and Managing Director Lilian Cutting in the elegant Wynn Hotel in fabulous Las Vegas.

Kim has over 25 years of experience in the AV industry. She started off her career at Tyne Video where she worked for ten years before moving to Greenham Video in 1991. She started as Internal Sales then progressed to being an External Sales Rep where she covered the North East and Scotland while based in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear. Kim was later promoted to look after Gateshead, Manchester and Middlesbrough. Her Greenham branch later moved to Stockton-on-Tees and, in 1999, she relocated to Aldridge branch in the West Midlands.

Two years later, the management buyout of Greenham Video saw the birth of GV Multimedia Ltd. For Kim, this brought a change of job title to Operations Director and a move of branch to Tamworth. Tamworth branch moved to Lutterworth for a number of years before relocating once again, in 2015, to their larger, current premises in Coventry - featuring a new Sales area, workshop and warehouse.

Kim’s leadership has been instrumental to her branch’s growth over the years. On top of her being responsible for winning many of her area’s biggest contracts, Kim is also responsible for managing the company's important ISO accreditations.

Congratulations, Kim!

Thursday 12th May saw Barco team up with the GV Exeter branch for a presentation and training day held at University of South Wales City Campus in Newport. Organised by Account Manager Richard Godfrey, the event saw Anthony Wright, Karel Buijsse and Russell Green representing Barco to lead a presentation on their Collaboration solutions for Higher Education. Representing their respective universities were Rob Jenkinson, Adam Carter and John Shapcott (University of Bristol), Keith Wilkes, Andrew Walker, Richard Oelmann and Catherine Naamani (University of South Wales), Garry Morgan and Mandy Jack (Swansea University) , Rob Hyde (University of Bath) and Justin Graham and Gareth Hubback (Cardiff University). Divisional Director Richard Watts and Marketing Executive Jordan Brown joined Richard Godfrey to represent GV Multimedia at the event.

After being introduced to the benefits of ClickShare and BYOD solutions, the guests were invited to try out the equipment for themselves. The event was a success and enjoyed by all. The GV team would like to extend thanks to both Barco and the University of South Wales for helping to organise the event and to our guests for taking the time to join us.

GV Multimedia's Exeter team enjoyed a mini-mobile tech day yesterday, courtesy of Kurtis Oliver of Maverick, as Vision AV, Phillips and Promethean visited the branch to present their latest products. While Promethean’s impressive ActivPanel V4 interactive touchscreen was set up and fully demonstrated, Vision and Phillips brought their presentation roadshow vans. As Vision educated the team on their catalogue of cables as well as audio, switching and control products, Phillips presented a host of high quality signage and video wall solutions. The event was enjoyed by all and the team would like to extend their gratitude to Vision, Phillips and Promethean for taking the time to take part in this different style of presentation and particularly to Kurtis for organising the event.

GV Multimedia has been featured in a Storify article on the Adventure in Big Data event that was held at Swansea School of Management's brand new building on the Bay Campus.

Written by Lucy Von Weber of Hurio on behalf of Swansea University's School of Management, she took the time to thank the team for ensuring the everything ran smoothly with the AV - particularly the video walls which were used for multiple presentations. The article can be found here.

We would like to extend our thanks to Lucy and the team for featuring us. The team was glad to be both a part of the running of the event as well as a sponsor.

The event focussed on Digital Marketing in the Tourism industry and was held on 28th January. For more information on GV's involvement with the event, see our blog post here.

Held in Amsterdam on the 10th February, the second annual CresFest saw GV Multimedia and some of their valued customers welcomed to Crestron’s hot ticket event. Held at ISE every year, this edition saw the team once again taking part in a stunning evening of hospitality and entertainment.

Joined this year by Gary and Colette from Swansea University as well as Richard and Steve from Cranfield University, GV enjoyed a wealth of food and drink as well as an intimate concert by none other than Jamie Cullum.

Everybody was thoroughly delighted to have been invited to such a prestigious event and to experience Crestron’s hospitality. The team would like to extend a huge thanks to everybody involved.
